Yes, all cruises need to be booked in advance. We have room for a maximum of 12 guests on board. At booking you must agree with our booking terms, provided on this page as they provide the basis of the agreement between us. An agreement with Triskel Travel will come into effect upon us sending out our confirmation email to the person(s) responsible for making the booking. Dutch Law will apply to the agreement and it is agreed that any claim or dispute in the contract must be dealt with by the Courts of the Netherlands. Changes made to the booking terms will only be valid if agreed by us. The person(s) in the booking must be at least 18 years old at the time of the cruise, except when agreed by us.
It is your responsibility to notify us of any changes to confirmed bookings as soon as possible. We will not charge any admin fees for name changes.
There is also no surchage for solo travelers, providing there is availability, so we advise to book your cruise early. Solo travellers have their own bed in a cabin shared by a fellow traveller of the same gender. As the number of cabins on board is limited, there is a surcharge of € 175,- per week if you prefer your own private luxury cabin.
Triskel Travel makes every effort to serve our guests in the best possible way. We also strongly advise all guests to purchase traveler’s insurance in case of interruption, accidents, illness, or anything else that may come up. If a reservation has to be cancelled, customers will be charged a fee depending on how far from the departure date the cancellation takes place.
Regarding missed/cancelled flights, we are not liable for any incidence which may occur that can interfere with your booking with us and will not refund monies for any missed/canceled flights. Any arrangements or compensation in the event of a delay or cancellation will be at the sole discretion of the airline you booked with or your personal travel insurer.
Although we strive to avoid cancellations, sometimes they are unavoidable and we must reserve the right to do so. We will notify you of any cancellations as soon as possible before departure and you will have the choice to:
Unfortunately we will not be liable for failure to perform its obligations stated in the booking terms or pay any compensation if such failure is as a result of “force majeure”. For the purpose of these booking terms, “force majeure” will be deemed to mean any event we as the supplier of the service could not avoid or foresee, such as nuclear disasters, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, fire, flood, earthquake, storm, hurricane or other similar natural disasters out of our control.
Payment is due at time of booking. Your selected travel arrangements are not confirmed until you have paid for them. Prices are according margin VAT ruling Dutch Tax Authorities for travel agencies.
The price includes luxury accommodation with a private bathroom per cabin, Mediterranean breakfast, lunch and dinner on board, bed linnen, towels and cleaning, fuel, port charges and all taxes. Drinks on board are very reasonably priced through a running tab on your shipboard account, that you settle at the end of the cruise in cash. Two lunches or dinners are in restaurants on shore at your own expense. There are no booking- or administration fees.
As customary during cruises, at the end of the cruise when you settle your shipboard account, we make a suggestion for gratuity for the crew of € 11,- per guest per day. You have the option of increasing, decreasing or eliminating the suggested amount at your own discretion. If you want to deviate from the gratuity suggestion, please see the skipper before the last day of your cruise. Otherwise, we expect that you honor our suggestion. Please keep in mind that at the end of the day, these aren’t really tips — they are meant to compensate the entire crew for their efforts during long hours to make sure you have the vacation with memories that last a lifetime.
No, that won’t be necessary. The skipper knows that you will join the expedition.
Please remember that a boat it is a challenge to stow suitcases omniscience’s board. Use a bag pack or bring a large bag with you. In any season we suggest to bring a sweater, two pairs of long trousers, comfortable boat shoes or sneakers (with light soles) and a waterproof jacket along, because the nights on the Mediterranean Sea can be chilly sometimes. For spring, summer and autumn you can also bring swim wear if you want. Do not forget to bring sunglasses and sun protection with you.
Yes, this is a great experience, but please understand that our bed linnen is only for the cabins, so you need to bring your own sleeping bag with you.
It is a fundamental requirement that everyone using our services has a personal travel insurance policy. It is your responsibility to buy personal travel insurance. It should cover adventurous activities such as sailing. By booking, you agree that you will have comprehensive travel insurance for the duration of your trip.
We are sorry to hear if you have any medical problems. If your medical condition could affect the sailing cruise, you must inform us prior to departure. We ask you to consult with your doctor to ensure you are physically fit and able to undertake a sailing expedition with us. You must inform us prior to departure if you or any members of your party suffer from any medical condition which could affect your holiday. You must keep any medication you may require with you at all times. You must also advise us in writing of any special requests at the time of making your booking and we will endeavour to meet those where we can. Please bring along an auto-injector if necessary.
The majority of our guests do not get sick on board of the New Horizons, as it is a stable, big ship. But, there are many factors that can contribute to not feeling well. If you have any doubts about sea sickness, we suggest that you buy sea sickness pills to take with you. Please contact us by for the best ones on the market. They are also available on board. During the safety briefing the skipper will get more in detail about sea sickness and how to prevent it, so don’t worry.
For European citizens a valid ID card is enough. No visa is necessary. If you are non-EU, please contact us well before departure to ensure that you comply with regulations. It is your responsibility to make sure that you have have these travel documents with you.
All cruises have listed time schedules. Due to the nature of sailing the skipper reserves the right to change course from any particular itinerary for any reason especially where it is deemed necessary in the interests of health and safety of our passengers. In case you think you might miss the departure time prior (e.g. delayed flight) or during the cruise, please contact the skipper immediately to discuss possibilities.
Most of our guests book this expedition with their partner, friend or family member. We also welcome solo travellers. Therefore, you have mixed fellow travellers on board. We sail with a maximum of twelve like-minded-spirits during a cruise.
The skipper speaks fluent Dutch, German and English. In case of an mixed international company, the common language is normally English, but that is entirely up to you.
Smoking is only allowed on the leeward side of the front deck (weather permitting). Smoking is forbidden on the aft deck and inside. Possession and use of any non-medicinal drugs is also strictly forbidden.
All meals on board are based on the local Mediterranean cuisine. We try to use only fresh, local and organic ingredients, depending on availability at local markets. If you are vegetarian, great. We have delicious, authentic dishes for you. If you are vegan or have any allergies or intolerances, please inform us in advance us by email as we need to plan ahead.
The New Horizons is not a party boat, but we do realize that not everyone consumes the same. Therefore, to keep things fair, all drinks, except the drinks that are “on the skipper”, are put on a running tab on your shipboard account, which you need to settle in cash before you disembark. Drinks are very reasonably priced (coffee, tea, water and soft drinks are € 1,-. Alcoholic beverages like wine and beer are € 2,-. Cocktails and liquor based mixed drinks are € 3,-. It is not permitted to bring shore-purchased drinks for consumption aboard.
Please note we use real people on real sailing holidays for any images we may have on our brochures, advertising materials, promotional materials and general publicity. If a photographer or another employee is taking photographs or video and you have an objection to these being used by us in this manner please make your objection known at the time.
Our core values include safety first for the guests, crew and ship and respect for nature and people. A responsible level of behaviour and consideration is therefore expected whilst you are on board of the New Horizons and you must comply with the yacht rules and regulations. You will be liable for any damage or loss caused by you or by persons in your party whilst on board. If you are deemed to be in our reasonable opinion behaving in a manner which is likely to cause danger or distress to any third party or property, we are entitled to terminate our agreement with you involved without notice or refund. The skipper also has the right to remove you from the vessel with no further responsibilities towards you.
We will always aim to provide you with the best cruise possible, but if a problem occurs you must report it to the skipper, who will try to resolve it on the spot. Failure to adhere to the above will have been deprived us of the opportunity to investigate and rectify your complaint whilst you were on your cruise and may result in your claim for compensation being lost.
Triskel Travel will fulfill its contractual obligations with you using reasonable skill and care. Unless we breach the booking agreement, the cruises are at the customer’s own risk. You will be responsible for all claims, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses suffered or incurred as a result of your breach or default in the discharge of your obligations.
Triskel Travel will not be liable to you in any way for any damages, loss, expense, injury, illness or death if your claim resulted from:
